April 2022 | PUERTO DE BILBAO NEWS 96

Petronor has invested 58 million euros in the general stoppage of the Coke Planta (URF), as well as the Vacuum Unit of the Conversion area and other units in this area, meaning the shutdown of 50% of the total activity of the refining installations.

The stoppage involves carrying out maintenance tasks and technological investments to improve the energy efficiency of the plants. All with two clear objectives: safety and innovation, reflecting Petronor's commitment to people and the environment.

From the point of view of employment and generation of economic activity, 40 companies have been hired (50% being Basque) to carry out the different tasks, placing more than 1,000 employees at Petronor's disposal every day, with peak days requiring up to 1,400 employees. All workers, both the habitual Petronor workforce and temporary workers, received specific safety training.
